{Luke's Hearing, Part VI}

Today we repeated the test from October 21, and Luke's word recognition has declined by exactly 20% in each ear (to 44% in the right ear and 36% in the left ear).  Even with hearing aids his word recognition went from 70% October 21, to 40% today.  Luke's preschool teacher Miss Vicki and I both have felt like his hearing was declining.  It was nice to confirm we aren't crazy, but sad to see how quickly he is losing his hearing.  We are so grateful Joe's work changed the health plan to cover CI!!!  We need it, and we need it fast!  The plan is to do MRI and CT scan as quickly as possible in the new year and then try to get the CI as quickly as possible thereafter - hopefully before the baby comes!
